Hello!! I have been doing the class 3 times a week since October but I haven’t lost weight and I don’t feel like I have toned my body. I love this workout so much! But I’m wondering what I’m doing wrong…is there anything I should do like completely change my eating habits? I have sort of been on a diet, I don’t too late, my diet is mainly a slice of toasted bread in the morning and tea, lunch is usually a salad or fruit salad or a vegetable soup and then for dinner I eat regular- dinner for me is usually at 4:30. Please help me!! I have a wedding in 3.5 months and I want to look and feel great!!
Hey Diana!
It sounds like your diet is pretty deficient in calories and protein! Your body needs lots of protein to form muscle.
Also, if you’re eating TOO few calories, your body will go into a “survival mode” where it will actually slow your metabolism down to prevent you from starving to death.
I’d try to work in a lot more protein-rich foods, like chicken, fish, and lean beef. You may need to eat more fat, too. Fat nourishes your body and is used for energy.
Eating healthy fats like nut butters, avocado, and extra virgin olive oil don’t make you gain fat
. That’s actually a myth. Most trainers agree that in moderation, they help you get healthy and LOSE fat!
I spent the majority of my life always tring to please others, working hard, being a mom and a wife , taking every breath for them and never breathing for myself. One day someone said to me you look so tired and worn down when are you going to do something for you. I tried different things I always had to give it up because life got in the way. One day I took a good look at myself and realized what that person ment. I looked like I was so frail and going to fall over. Everyday I would drive past the i love kickboxing sign and say yea right, I dont think so. I finally decided. that just because I am in my 40′s I dont need to look like I am . I took the challenge on myself to attempt to change. I didnt want to go the the gym, they are so well” ever feel like your being watched.” So I called i love kickboxing and tried it out, I was hooked after the first class. Hear I am one year later still going 3 to 4 times a week. It has toned me and gave my self confidence, it has taught me that not everything in life has a negitive impact, my stress level droped, the instructors are great they are always giving you postiveness. I have meet some really awesome people who helped keep me on track and given support to me when I needed it and it is alot of fun. Thank you guys .
I have been going faithfully for almost two months. I started with one night a week and progressed to two nights a week. I am trying this week for three nights a week. I have asthma so it has been a struggle for me. I have great trainers who have helped me learn how to breathe all over again. I still have problems but not as many. I still have to take more breaks than most people. I have found something I finally enjoy, the support is amazing. It’s not like going to a gym and having to work out on your own and wishing you had the support.
I do however; have a question, when do you notice the results of weight loss? I have noticed strength and more endurance, I have not yet seen the weight loss that I have seen on the blogs or from what people have said in the classes. I know it is different for everyone, but I am curious as an average when people start seeing that part of the change? I could go on and on.
This has been the best program for me, if it wasn’t for you doing the special on Groupon I would have never tried it. I am glad I did and I am glad I signed up for the one year unlimited.
Thank you Missy
Hey Missy,
When “drastic” results seem slow, here are the most common causes:
1. Diet
You can’t out-work a bad diet! If there are lots of refined sugars, fried foods, high-calorie meals and white flour in your diet – it’s going to be hard to get lean and toned!
2. Not much weight to lose
If you don’t have a lot of weight to lose, it can take longer to burn it off.
9 times out of 10, nutrition is the culprit! Check out this blog post for some great tips from our spokesmodel, Amber Lynn:

I have been doing kickboxing for a couple of years now. Being in the “over 40″ crowd, I have to admit I’m in the best shape of my life. Also, doing awesome exercise like kickboxing makes me think twice about how and what I eat. Thanks ilovekickboxing!!
I just attended my first ilovekickboxingbowie.com (Bowie, MD) on Monday, May, 13th and I must admit that I am addicted. This is the best workout that I’ve had in a long time and am loving how I feel before, after and during each class. Will be signing up tonight at ilovekickboxingbowie.com. Can’t wait!
So happy to hear that, Juanita
